Metal Rose

THE STORY:

Each palmetto rose is hand cut by local blacksmith, Adam Gilbert, from a single piece of steel. The petals are then hand folded before being riveted together to ensure a long lasting Lowcountry keepsake

THE SIZE:

Approximately 2” x 2”

THE ARTIST:

Adam Gilbert - Mount Pleasant, SC

Artisan Adam Gilbert uses a variety of raw and repurposed metals from around the Lowcountry to create hand-hammered artistic designs. His simple work space includes a hundred-year-old anvil and vise that sit atop a large oak stump. Using his hand-built forge, Adam honors the tradition of old-fashioned blacksmithing ways. Adam is a member of the Phillip Simmons Artistic Blacksmithing Guild of SC, has a long history of metal fabrication, and graduated from Wyotech in 2003. As a do-it-yourself guy, Adam enjoys the challenge of building and refurbishing his own tools. Products are built to last and, as gifts, are sure to make an impression. All items are made in South Carolina
