THE STORY:

Nesting Sea Turtles

Each year, between May and August, South Carolina's coastline becomes a nesting ground for visiting sea turtles.  Under the watchful eye of the S.C. Department of Natural Resources and many volunteers, great care is taken to ensure a sucessful nesting season for these endangered, ancient mariners.  Turtles are said to symbolize wealth, longevity, strength and endurance....  all a part of our great South Carolina heritage!
